Preface: Ben announces the success of the newly released Samsung Galaxy Note 7. However, there have been complaints that the model contains faults. Shortly after, Ben receives three apparitions that inspire him to take quick action to ensure the security of his company.
Children playing on phones, people texting, not interacting
Kid 1: If I don't get the new smartphone, I'm going to die!
Ben (Beckett): So, as many of you know, the release of our new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been very successful and is topping all charts. Kids are loving it, adults are loving it, all generations, are loving it. No other company has been able to come close to achieving the revenue that we have. Now I know you are all aware of some unhappy customers that have been issuing some complaints regarding faults in our model. But uh, we won’t have to worry about them much longer. Witch #1 (Sydney): Oh no. This is not looking good going through Twitter. Parents are complaining that technology has consumed children’s lives, and children are complaining that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is not functioning.
Witch #2 (Michelle): By the typing of thy thumbs something wicked this way comes.
Witch #1: We shall caution the careless, cocky, captain of the company before the clock completely closes.
Witches facetime Ben
Witches together: Three new friends have added you on. Check your phone to hear the news.
Ben hangs up
Ben: Oh no. What could this news be? I shall be brave and confident and not hide like a baby.
Ben opens 1st APParition (appears as the caption of the snapchat)
Witch #1: Dan, the vice president of your company, is trying to steal your job and become head of Samsung.
Benopens 2nd APParition
Witch #2: A samsung galaxy Note 7 will explode in one’s face.
Ben opens 3rd APParition
Witch #1: You will lose your job if the complaints from unhappy customers turn out to be true.
Ben goes back to the office and googles Magic 8 Ball website
Ben: What should I do? I refuse to let all my work just be handed over to someone else.
Ben: Should I fire Dan?
Magic 8 Ball: As I see it, yes.
Ben: Wait, what am I doing? This won't give me an answer! Oh boy, this is starting one long, scary roller coaster.... Aha! I have a solution. Julie, I need a favor. Julie: What?
Ben: We gotta fire Dan. I’m worried about him, I’m starting to think he may have bad intentions. Just get it done and I don’t care how you do it. We must prevent this organized chaos that is in our near future.
Julie (Sydney): Alright boss, will do.
Julie approaches Dan
Julie: Look Dan, Ben is just not satisfied with your performance at the company. We’re going to have to let you go. I am really sorry. You have until the end of the day to pack up your stuff.
Dan (Denzil): What? This makes no sense, I’ve contributed so much to this company!
Dan: You know what, forget Samsung! I’m going to Apple! What even is a Samsung anyway? Apples are shiny, bright, and delicious, just like my future. I'm going to pick the shiniest metaphorical apple I can, and it'll be red, organic, perfectly crisp, and full of revenge.
SCENE 2
Preface: A family friend of Dan’s wife and daughter, Rosaline, visits Duffy and Caroline to warn them about the dangers of their new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones. Therefore, Duffy and Caroline decide to head to the store to get their phones checked. However, on the way, Caroline’s phone blows up, costing the lives of Duffy and Caroline.
Cut to Rosaline and the Dan’s family
Rosaline (Juliana): Duffy, Caroline, all over the news there’s been problems with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s exploding. I know both of you have one, and with the problems that your husband, and your father, and Dan have been having, it’s best for you guys to get your phones checked out just to make sure there is no problem.
Duffy (Hannah): Thanks so much Rosaline! I don’t see why we would be affected by this, but we’ll definitely go to the store and get it checked out. The last thing I would want is for Caroline to get hurt.
Duffy and Caroline in the car
Duffy: Honey I really think that it would be best for you not to be on your phone until we get this whole thing checked out.
Caroline (Michelle): Hold on mom, my friends and I are tweeting about how annoying our substitute teacher was today. He was being so frustrating and even told Jamie that her handwriting looked like it was a baby’s writing.
Caroline: Oh shoot can I charge my phone it’s about to die?
Duffy: No Caroline. I heard on the news that the phones have been blowing up and those are the ones that get plugged in after being used.
Caroline: But mom it’s about to die!!
Duffy: Ugh alright. But only for a little bit. And you need to watch it to make sure that it doesn’t overheat!
Few minutes later
Duffy: Look Caroline, your phone is on fire!
Car Explosion
SCENE 3
Preface: Ben is informed about the death of Dan’s wife and daughter. Simultaneously, Rosaline, a friend of Dan, tells him the sad news about the death of his beloved family, and immediately suggests an idea about how to get back at Ben.
Julie: Boss
Ben: Hold on Julie, I am in the middle of projecting sales of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 over the next few years.
Julie: Um, you might not need to do that anymore because a problem.
Ben: What happened?
Julie: Look, I don’t like to bring you such bad news, especially when your company is doing so well and everything, but Ben’s wife and daughter were in the car and well, her phone exploded and the two of them died.
Ben: Oh nOOOO!
Dan: What do you mean my wife and daughter are dead!
Rosaline: Apparently they were driving and Caroline went to plug in her phone and it just exploded. Duffy crashed the car, and that was that.
Dan: I can’t believe this is happening to me.
Rosaline: Look, Dan, we need to get back at Ben. It’s the only way to receive justice.
Dan: No, just let me stay here. I need to cry it out. I need to feel all of this pain and suffering as if I'm crying like a baby right now.
Rosaline: Yes, it is important to to grieve, I understand that. But we need to get back at Ben. Look, on Twitter, there are multiple parents complaining about their children abusing technology, and now, it doesn’t help that the technology they are obsessing over is leading to dangerous circumstances! We must do something about this.
Dan: You’re right. Ben does not deserve to be the CEO of the company, let alone employed if people’s lives are at stake.
Rosaline: I have an idea! We can reach out to these unhappy, frustrated parents, get a hold of a lawyer, and file a lawsuit against Samsung, specifically targeting Ben.
